Course Overview:
In this two-week course, students will learn the basics of Python programming, and apply their knowledge by making various simple text-based games, along with learning to use Pygame to make 2D games.
Week 1: Students will build their fundamental knowledge of Python and create small projects to apply their skills.
Week 2: Students will be introduced to the Pygame library, and use it to create a 2D game that they build off of each day of the week.
About the Instructors:
Ray Zhao is in 12th grade at Bellevue High School, and Jerry Wang is in 11th grade at Newport High. We both have 5 years of coding experience in competitive robotics and had the 3rd best programming skills in the world last season. Jerry has Unity Game Development experience, and we both have taught Python over the last year.
Prerequisites:
No Prior Coding Experience Needed
Needs to have basic knowledge of coordinate planes
Dates and Time:
4:00 PM – 5:30 PM Monday- Friday
- Session 1: 7/17-7/21 and 7/24-7/28
- Session 2: 7/31-8/4 and 8/7-8/11
Each session is two weeks long and covers the same content
