By inviting guest speakers with different career backgrounds and in different age groups, the LMC College2Career team aims to provide high schoolers an opportunity to gain insights into real-world careers so that they could better identify their true career passion, select college majors that suit their own interests, and facilitate their future career development. From the stories of our guest speakers, we learn together how to achieve personal goals while serving our community at the same time.
On June 26th, we invited Zizheng Cheng, a CS-major rising senior at UC Berkeley, to speak with us about about his college life and his application experience. Zizheng graduated from Bellevue High School in 2019, and he served 3 years in Bellevue High’s class council and 1 year in the ASB. He was also the debate co-lead on his school’s speech and debate team. In the summer of 2020 and 2021, Zizheng interned at Amazon in the Alexa speech team, and he is currently interning at Roblox’s content platform team We are honored to have Zizheng share his amazing experiences and hope that this workshop will be helpful to high schoolers.
Below are some key takeaways from the presentation:
UC Berkeley is one of nine UC schools, located in Berkeley, California. With around 45,000 students, UCB is the #1 public university worldwide with 350+ degree programs. With a student-to-faculty ratio of 17.8 to 1, 32 Nobel Prizes are held by alumni.
Besides his abundant college life and internship, Zizheng has also founded his start-up business of TutoPoint, an academic consulting company with a bunch of friends from first-class universities. Anyone interested, please feel free to contact TutoPoint as below
