College2Career Event #3–UW CS Major Application Techniques Presentation

By inviting guest speakers with different career backgrounds and in different age groups, the LMC College2Career team aims to provide high schoolers an opportunity to gain insights into real-world careers so that they could better identify their true career passion, select college majors that suit their own interests, and facilitate their future career development. From the stories of our guest speakers, we learn together how to achieve personal goals while serving our community at the same time.

On June 5th, we hosted a workshop with Alex Niu, President of Newport High School’s Programming Club as well as a senior who got accepted into the University of Washington’s (UW) Computer Science (CS) program. UW has one of the nation’s best CS programs, and we are honored to have Alex Niu share his experiences applying for the program. We hope that this workshop will be useful to all students who plan to apply for UW’s CS program.
