With the participation of 73 families and nearly 200 volunteers, the 8th Little Master GEST Mooncake Fundraiser ended lively. In 2021, we sold a total of 2,512 moon cakes for a total of $14,043.59 (gross profit, excluding company Match). The number of volunteers and the funds we received have set new records. I would like to sincerely thank all the volunteers of GEST, as well as the friends who supported us all the way.
There are so many moving stories in making moon cakes this year. First of all, the Jingdezhen Branch of the Little Masters Club was unable to organize a Mooncake Fundraising event this year due to the epidemic. However, Ms. Tian, the president of the branch, immediately donated 2,000 RMB through WeChat. Thanks to the Little Masters’ Jingdezhen Branch for participating in GEST student assistance activities since 2015.

Teacher Wang, who is living in the UK, signed up for an online course to learn how to make mooncakes. However, she missed the online course because of the different time zones. After the class ended, I shared the online video with her on how to make mooncakes. Teacher Wang followed the procedures immediately and arranged the children in the UK to make mooncakes. I hope that children in far-away England can make mooncakes together every Mid-Autumn Festival in the future.
This year we had a special volunteer who has to rely on an electric wheelchair to go to school every day because of physical disability. Most of our volunteers can make 4 boxes of mooncakes in an average about 4-6 hours, but this child took more than 10 hours to finish 4 boxes. Life has brought him too much misfortune, but he did not blame others, and still volunteered to help other students. With such a child in our community, such a family deserves our respect and care!
This year, Mann and I, the two project leaders of GEST, both went to work one after another. We were very busy. We originally thought that this year's Mooncake Fundraising would be almost impossible to happen. However, the sincerity, tolerance, love and dedication of everyone in the event constantly moved us. Here are our wonderful volunteers, and we sincerely thank you for your support!
