趣味故事创制Playful Storytelling Program (LMC & BPG Collaboration)

Objectives

– To encourage 3 to 16 year-old children widely read children’s popular and classic books both in Chinese and English;

– To build and foster big kids’ leadership and communication skills and littler kids’ social and teamwork capacity through the activities using different storytelling methods;

– To increase literacy and inspire the passion of learning and creativity.

–    鼓励3~16岁的孩子们广泛阅读中英文流行和经典故事;

–    通过运用各类讲故事方法所开展的活动,开发与培养大孩子的领导与沟通能力以及小孩子的社交协作能力;

–    提高读写认知能力,并激发学习原动力与创意热情。

Mission Statement

Each project development based on the original story which was chosen by the kids. With the project supervisor (elected by the parents during the orientation)’s help, directors (older kids) can decide the specific story they want to edit, form a team, pick a format, and set up communication method at the beginning of the project. Through couple of playdates, all the participants can know each other, understand their tasks, and act based on the roles they were assigned. There are couple of ways to measure the achievement for a single project, such as a (picture) book making and publishing, a puppy show, or a real performance, etc.

Project Outline

– Group Collaboration: Encourage group discussion regarding script editing, storytelling method and play role assignment;

– Parent Involvement: Encourage family engagement, especially parents’ supervision on the tasks and feedback;

– Time Commitment: Require to attend at least four playdates (8 hours per story) for one session;

– Funding Support: Proposed Funding for the play and skills building classes (filed trip or related study sessions).

– 团队协作:鼓励关于剧本改编,创制方式,以及角色安排等团队讨论与配合;

– 家长参与:鼓励家庭成员共同参与,特别是家长对给定任务的监督以及反馈;

– 时间投入:要求每一个故事报名者至少参与四次(累计8小时)活动;

– 资金支持:为道具制作/演出/故事创制其他方式等筹款,并支持相关技能培训与讲座.
